Barb has been the Parish Administrator at St. Peter's since 2011. Barb was born in Michigan and spent the first 31 years of her life there, with brief times of living out of state and out of the country. She graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Home Economics Education. After college, she worked in various jobs, including fabric retailing, food service management, and Optometric Vision Therapy. In between these different job experiences, she had the opportunity to live in Japan for 15 months, serving as a nanny for a missionary couple with 2 young children. After returning to the States, she began a correspondence relationship with the man who would become her husband, whom she knew from her college years. Since he was also a missionary, living in Vienna, Austria, they corresponded for 3 years without seeing each other – and finally married in 1986 – 9 years after they met and became friends. The next several years Barb was mostly a mother and homemaker and cheerleader for her husband as he pursued a PhD., got established in his academic career, and furthered his research portfolio. His career took the family to Columbia, SC and then to Whitewater, WI where they have been for the last 22 years. After their three children entered school, Barb has worked as a Church Administrative Assistant, and has also volunteered in various capacities, mostly in her church. She also loves to create quilts and yummy meals, walk and read with her husband.
