The Choral Scholarship Program at St. Peter's was established early in 2010 at the behest of the Rev’d Andrew Hanyzewski. What are its benefits? For St. Peter's, the addition of a few singers with trained voices and strong reading skills means a better choir. There is a bonus, too: choral scholars attract other choristers. Friends invite friends to attend church. Choral Scholarships have proven to be an effective means of encouraging students unfamiliar with Episcopal worship to visit us, and is an effective recruitment tool for the choir. What of the student? What profits a choral scholar from participating in our choral program? Worship and community--this is the work the church is called to.
